Steph Curry’s highly successful summer just got a whole lot better. The Golden State Warriors’ star guard has agreed to a massive contract extension to remain in the Bay Area.

The guard agreed to a one-year, $62.6 million contract extension with the Warriors on Thursday, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. The extension will keep Curry in a Warriors’ uniform through the 2027 season.

Curry’s original contract, signed in 2021, runs through the 2025-26 season. That deal will pay him $55.7 million for the 2024-25 season and $59.6 million in the final year of his deal. The extension will make him the first player in league history to earn more than $60 million in a single season.

Curry, 36, has showed no signs of slowing down as he approached his 15th NBA season.. He is coming off a 2023-24 season in which he averaged 26.4 points, 4.5 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game on 45% shooting from the field and 40.8% from 3-point range.

Curry, a four-time NBA champion, two-time league MVP and 10-time All-Star, added another title to his glittering resume. He helped USA Basketball capture the gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics, leading the team in scoring at 14.8 points per game.
