NBA Free Agency 2024: Utah Jazz decline qualifying offer to Kira Lewis Jr.
According to Tony Jones, the Utah Jazz have declined the qualifying offer to Kira Lewis Jr.
The Utah Jazz will decline a qualifying offer to guard Kira Lewis, clearing the way for him to be an unrestricted free agent, League Sources tell The Athletic. Lewis, who came to the Jazz via
As Jones says, this makes Lewis an unrestricted free agent. Lewis was part of the trade that sent Kelly Olynyk and Ochai Agbaji to the Toronto Raptors. In return, the Jazz received Otto Porter and Kira Lewis. Porter retired shortly after the trade and Lewis played sparingly until the Jazz made an effort to improve their pick after the trade deadline. The Jazz also received a 1st round pick in the trade that has now become Isaiah Collier. Weâll see what happens with Collier but this isnât much of a surprise.
Lewis was the #13 pick in the 2020 draft and went to the New Orleans Pelicans. His career so far has been disappointing and weâll see if he gets another deal. He does have speed but in his time with the Jazz seemed to have very little impact. Hopefully for his next team he finds his niche in the league.
