Eight games in, Nottingham Forest can reflect on an encouraging start to the 2023/24 season.
The Reds’ aim this term is to kick on, having secured safety with a game to spare on their return to the top flight. They currently sit 13th in the table, with nine points from eight games.
Steve Cooper’s side have shown positive signs in the opening months of the campaign. But they also know there is work still to be done and the potential for much more to come.
On several occasions, the head coach has been left with mixed feelings after matches. Forest have played some nice football but haven’t always come away with the result they would have liked. Scoring more goals is a particular area for improvement.
The Reds are still gelling as a team and some of their summer signings are still finding their feet, though. With that in mind, there is cause for optimism on the banks of the Trent.
