In a recent report, Fussball Transfers mentioned that Everton are among the clubs hoping to sign Hoffenheim forward Maximilian Beier. It has been stated that the Toffees will face competition from Liverpool and Brentford in pursuit of the German talent.
Beier’s Impressive Run Of Form In German Football
Beier has made a great start to this campaign as he has produced a run of productive displays for Hoffenheim in the final third. The 20-year-old has banged in five goals and earned one assist in eight matches for the German outfit this season in various competitions.
The German striker has led the line well and deserves credit for averaging 1.9 shots and 1.0 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Bundesliga. However, he has lacked quality when distributing possession in the final third based on his pass completion rate of 63.6% in the German first division (stats via who scored).
His current contract at the German club will run out in the summer of 2025. Hence, it won’t be easy for the Toffees to sign him on the cheap.
Is Beier The Right Fit For Everton Boss Sean Dyche?
Beier is proficient at finding a yard of space for himself to get a few strikes in on-target. He can use his strong 1.85m frame to hold possession up for his team and is a decent dribbler with the ball as well.
The German centre-forward can be a decent finisher up top when he is playing well on the field. Beier is primarily a striker but can also fill in as a winger on either flank if asked to do so. However, there are some major question marks over whether he would be able to cope with the physical side and high intensity of Premier League football.
We can expect Beier to bring more goals to Everton head coach Sean Dyche’s attack. He might help the Toffees steer clear of the Premier League‘s relegation zone next year.
At 20, Beier has got a lot of room for improvement but could be a success story at Goodison Park in the long run. Thus, he would be a good fit for Everton this winter as long as Dyche can sign him for a fair price in the upcoming January transfer window.
