The transfer window may have closed on Friday night, but there is still plenty of ongoing speculation around Liverpool and their players.
A whopping £2.36 billion was spent in the Premier League during the summer window, with the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United all splashing the cash to revamp their teams.
But the transfer window remains open in other countries, and that is leading to a lot of speculation, especially considering that clubs in the Saudi Pro League have until this Thursday to conduct any late business.
With that in mind, we have taken a look at the transfer gossip involving Liverpool and their players.
According to a report by the Mail, a Saudi Arabian delegation arrived in London on Saturday as they make one last push to persuade Liverpool to sell Mohamed Salah this week.
The report goes on to claim that the Saudis will push their offer towards £200million over the next 48 hours in the belief that Salah would be open to joining Al-Ittihad. According to the report, the club has no intention of abandoning its pursuit of the forward.
Liverpool rejected a £150m offer for the 31-year-old last week, and the Saudi Pro League side, one of four clubs backed by the country’s Public Investment Fund, are expected to try again before their transfer deadline on Thursday.
Speaking following the win over Aston Villa on Sunday, Jurgen Klopp said Liverpool will not buckle in the face of any renewed attempt from Saudi Arabia to sign the Egypt international. The Reds’ stance has always been that Salah is not for sale.
Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde is already regretting his choice to stay at Santiago Bernabeu amid reported interest from Liverpool.
According to Spanish publication Nacional, via Football 365, Valverde has ‘already noticed’ that he will not be an ‘undisputed starter’ at Real this campaign. The report goes on to claim that the midfielder now ‘half regrets having made this decision’ and that the ‘best thing he could have done is to have packed his bags’.
Liverpool have been linked with a move for the Uruguay international for over a year, while Valverde was also the subject of reported interest from Manchester United during the summer.
